There likely is malnutrition if not starvation. It’s a small war zone that has been ongoing for years with both parties restricting civilians from leaving. And yes many don’t want to leave but I think roughly half do.

Trying to feed 2mil people in a dense city with an active war is not realistic. But then if someone mentions to move civilians out of Gaza, people call it ethnic cleansing. It’s a war zone with no decisive victory in site for over a year. Anywhere else in the world, everyone would be clamoring to move civilians out over a year ago.

The thinking that that is not good politically is the same thing as what people claim IDF and Hamas are doing: using civilians (‘blood) as pawns. No, get civilians out to neutral territory and then after peace figure it out. Don’t force them to sit in the middle of a war. WTF

I looked at the COGAT data. They're dead on target for IPC guidelines for 62kt of food/month.

However they're beating the 2100kCal/person/day guidelines with 3300kCal/person/day. 150% surplus.

So the main problem is technically not calories. There's enough food getting in via GHF and the UN coordination zone. But it's not reaching everyone. 

I think this was a standoff situation, where armed gangs looting trucks, have led to the collapse of civil society, and of the UN's ability to distribute aid. That makes the UN complicit, which puts the pressure on the Arab League to put the pressure on Hamas to surrender, since even if Israel allows humanitarian windows for the UN to operate, it just exposes the inability of the UN to handle the security risk associated with their purview.

I remember the very first claim of this showed a specific child with their name. I googled the child and found instagram posts from their parents a month earlier which talked about their child's intestinal disease that was causing malnutrition. 

And each time they post one that can be looked up, it's clear the kids have diseases or genetic disorders. And one of them was flown to a hospital in Italy to treat their disease. 

Also, if there was a famine, it would not effect just a handful of children. It would effect everyone. Yet we see overweight mothers tending to the "starving" children. But we don't see that. We see a few children among well fed adults. 

But we're supposed to believe the same source that was caught lying about the IDF shooting civilians trying to get aid. 

Boy and I thought MAGA was the kind of misinformation. They got nothing on the far left when it comes to misinformation like this.

Why doesn't Egypt or the surrounding Arab countries take in more Gazan refugees? Why not evacuate the children there? The answers to this, if you get any, are that 1. the Israelis will not let them back in. 2. The Egyptians don't want them because they're radicalized, and will radicalize their populations. 

But better that they leave, and don't get back in, and merge with other Levantine Arab populations, or in Egypt, than starve or be bombarded in Gaza. 

Obviously it's better by far to evacuate at least the children. If they're being kept there for other reasons, (like for propaganda purposes, or religious reasons) by the Palestinians themselves, then the situation is different from what is being presented. 

The propaganda effort seems to be targeted at Europe and the West. But surely the logical place to go is out of Israel/Palestine altogether, and into one of the nearby Arab Muslims countries, which share their culture and where they will fit in easiest. These transfers of population are never easy, but they have been accomplished before in history.

On 10/7, there were multiple accounts of rape. However, *one* of these cases later turned out to NOT be rape (the person doing the autopsy prematurely listed rape before later correcting himself). Now, whenever anyone mentions rape on 10/7, the response is always: "that's been proven wrong!"; ignoring all of the documented cases of actual rape (determined by third party, btw).

OP is asking a very reasonable question here. I don't deny that they are hungry (especially if Hamas is controlling the aid). I just don't understand why pictures would have to be staged if it's so common.

I think that when your people are suffering from hunger it might make sense to do what you can to pressure the intl community to help. Moreover, some people are looking for drama, not to actually help the suffering in Gaza. Both of these may lead to hyperbole or fakes.

This doesn't mean that there is no hunger and suffering in Gaza. Many of the testimonials are as reliable as can be. I believe that like with the death toll, where it might not be clear if the number of those killed is 50k or 60k or 100k, but it is very clear that a huge number of civilians were killed - so here there is no question that there is massive suffering and hunger.

I‘ve been donating to individual families via gofundme. I‘ve become particularly close to one of the families and they say their gofundme campaign has saved their lives. I honestly think the only way is a strike. But to get to a point where enough people are willing to strike and literally refuse to work until their governments do something live saving (complete weapons embargo, force aid in and so on) its going to take a lot of awareness. Maybe this is unrealistic, but there should be a global movement for hundreds and hundreds of marches and flotillas to be constantly making their way toward Gaza, with the goal of actually entering Gaza to break the siege. Part of what enables the genocide project is that Isreal is keeping Gaza completely enclosed from the outside world. I really think this is the best path forward, given the absolute failure of any nation state to take action on this. Personally ive been using the Faxzero website to fax messages to my reps demanding they do things for Palestine (I’ve also been calling and emailing), maybe we could start doing that en mass?

From what I've seen, there are still markets where people buy food, which is why many need donations. The problem is that inflation has made the goods super expensive to buy.

Whatever food that's left in the Palestinian markets should be mutually shared and rationed. I'm not sure if it's helpful, but that a suggestion.

What will happen if israeli embassies are blocked by people parking their cars or locking their gates with people inside and only let go after they let aid in?

Can we project videos if what is happening in gaza to embassy building or important us buildings?

Honestly I think the personal stories coming out of Gaza (children starving, mothers desperately trying to keep their babies alive) is what needs to be amplified right now. By all accounts there are truckloads and truckloads of food, medicine and other supplies unable to pass through the blockades. So I don’t think getting the aid over there is the issue. I think anyone who has contacts over there and every journalist of every newspaper everywhere in the world needs to run very personal stories. Humans are such a disappointment in so many ways but I honestly believe the world doesn’t want to see those people starving. I honestly believe that. We, everybody, need to demand the food that is already over there gets to those people. Peace doesn’t have to be attained before those starving people are given food.

But it's fucking amazing how much mass coverage palestine always gets when there's others around the world who have it much, much worse. Sudan, other areas, and you never hear about them on the news. One of western media's favorite pets. I want to know why that is.

This last week there has been a massive push to get more aid in. Kitchens are reopening. Hospitals are restocking. It seems like this will only increase more in the coming weeks.

Also new power line to ramp up water desalination. New water pipeline from Egypt.

Hamas is the reason people are starving.  Plenty of food is coming in, but most of it seems to be ending up in the hands of Hamas, who is feasting on it and selling it at exorbitant prices to desperate people in order to fund their terrorist operations.

Meanwhile, Hamas keeps prolonging the war by making ridiculous demands and sabotaging the negotiations.  This is according to Egypt and Qatar by the way.  Even they are sick of Hamas and its intransigence.

Hamas is the reason all of this is happening.  They started the war.  They refuse to negotiate in good faith.  They refuse to release the hostages.  They refuse to surrender.  They continue to carry out terrorist attacks and oppress the people of Gaza.  They steal food that is meant for the people of Gaza.  Because of Hamas' refusal to make a deal, defeating them and removing them from power has become the only way to end this war and help the people of Gaza.

In all seriousness though, anyone who has kids will emphasize. I know I do. Doesn't mean most people are stupid enough to not understand where the blame goes. Some are. But most are not.

Now everyone is just looking for a relief valve because everyone fucked around avoiding a proper solution to the plight of the population, and now they're finding out.

OK guys, I know this is also a propaganda war, a war about the truth and a war for international support.

It may not be true that there's a "famine" in the sense that thousands of people are starving to death each day. However, the war has been going on for 1.5 years now and not even Israel claims that enough food was let in for 3 meals a day. It was more like one meal a day for a very long time and that can and does create health problems for the weakest: kids, elderly, sick, pregnant women. None of these groups are a direct threat to Israel. Yes, they may hate you (in the future) and maybe support Hamas, but they are not armed fighters in this conflict. So their suffering should be recognized and avoided as much as that as possible. 

Even if it's not a famine, malnutrition is real. At the moment, this is not just pro-pali online users or Palestinian activists, it's actually governments of reasonable, developed countries - who are even allied with Israel. Why do you think countries like Germany, Jordan, France and others insist on delivering/air-dropping food to Gaza *at their own expense*? 

Are they idiots falling for Hamas propaganda? Or do they maybe have reliable information that the civilian population of Gaza cannot take anymore? 

Let them and the UN bring in food and the whole "Israel is starving children to death" debate will end soon. Yes, some rations will go to Hamas fighters but that seems to be unavoidable at this point. You will just have to win this war with using food/aid as a weapon. It wasn't working anyway cause Hamas doesn't care how many civilians starve. They are probably even happy about it as they can use them for their propaganda purposes.
